Pridecraft and a Couple of Sins

April 20, 2012 § Leave a comment

Pridecraft came out at Beneath Ceaseless Skies yesterday, while I was bustling about and a little bit hurried to post about it. (Exciting further news in that front is that it shall be appearing in audio version in issue #94)

As for a couple of sins- mostly that’s connected to gaming. I’m starting a Vampire the Masquerade game next week. Certain potential plotlines, and the nature of games, and various news involving nuns – put the Catholic church on my mind.

Which brings me along quite neatly to the fact that after finishing the draft of my Foundling story, I’ve been doddering quite slowly to write anything else. Which has resulted in four pieces quarter or less complete. One set in the same world as Pridecraft, another an advance of character’s life from my Foundling story, a story set in a Kingdom at the Edge of the World and something that popped half formed into my head this morning: a future vision of the Catholic church in a world of space travel, ansibles and technology so advanced that science is synonymous with miracle.

Regardless, editing is progressing on Foundling and I’m determined to finish a draft for at least one of these floating about stories this weekend.

My story Conjure Woman’s Deal is up at Every Day Fiction, take a look!

Publication Updates and a Story Accepted!

March 1, 2012 § 1 Comment

Here’s just a few short updates -It’s been a long month of writing daily updates, occasionally writing them (or typing them) in a little bit of a bunch. And as much as I enjoyed the last month, I’m glad it’s over!  These last few days I’ve been caught up in the grips of writing a story based loosely on the mythos established in Peter Pan – along with my father who now has a presence on the web.

My story “Conjure Woman’s Deal” has been accepted for publication, and you’ll be able to find it March 14th over at Every Day Fiction.

My story “Pridecraft” is forthcoming from Beneath Ceaseless Skies and will be seen sometime this Spring.

February’s Right Around the Corner

January 30, 2012 § 2 Comments

February’s right around the corner, and guess what? Tara and I’s February Flash Fiction Fight to the Death (that was never really a competition or fight to the death at all) is returning! Except…it isn’t just the two of us this year. Three of our friends will be joining, making  for 145 different bits of micro and flash throughout the month for your reading pleasure. I’m pretty excited.

In other news: Not much. I wrote a poem about a dragon-spider, am writing a weird mago-technic renaissance Pathfinder setting for some friends, possibly retooling the rules of Maid for my own nefarious purposes and DfB is back after its hiatus over my vacation.

Back to Work

It’s been almost two months since you’ve seen heads or tails of me around here. During that time I’ve been conducting serious research in how to control the elements.

No really though…

It does look like it, doesn't it?

In actuality, I’ve been either busy with work or on vacation with Sarah in California. At some point soon I think I’ll post pictures of our adventures at Mono Lake, it was spectacular (and otherworldly.)

Until then, I’m off to do some catch up work on DFB, get caught up on writing and gear up for this upcoming February Fiction Fight to the Death (looks like it’ll be more than just myself and Tara this year too!) Also plotting a Pathfinder campaign set in a sort of Mago-technic Renaissance, and possibly continuing my old Oriental-Elf campaign too.

Anyways: the holidays were quite the success, exactly the rest I needed! Hope everyone else’s went similarly!

Now back to work.

Winter Sets In, A New Story Accepted

December 2, 2011 § 1 Comment

It’s December, that holiday season, and cheer is in the air!

I’ll be back in Cali in a little under three weeks – where I’ll relish the existence of flowers and the lack of blizards for a good spell. Gaming excessively with the family, seeing friends and writimg when I can.The best part is that I’ll be there for a whole  three weeks!

My only real regret is that I’ll be missing my 3rd grades holiday performance, and all those Holiday stories from right after.  I’ll miss them, I admit. I have a great class this year.

As a special holiday note, my story Pridecraft has recently been accepted by Beneath Ceaseless Skies – to be published this upcoming Spring.

In other news, lots of gaming lately. Playing in an online game of Scion, running a game of Space FATE (The Kindly Spheres), prepping for a series of holiday one shots (GMing two, playing in two,) and finally getting ready for my family’s canon campaign run. Busy as bees.

Now back to waiting in the Met lobby, for my friend who accidently went to the MoMA instead.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 24, 2011 § 1 Comment

Happy Thanksgiving to all! And to all, a good turkey!

These are the sort of days (holidays) that make me think.

-What if our dinners, given power by years of ritual sacrifice and consumption, rose and assaulted us in legions of zombified poultry?
– How many licks does it take to disintegrate a turkey?
–  What is the single best drink to compliment my Thanksgiving dinner?

Anyways, I wish you all a wonderful holiday!

(Real posts to come soon.)

Where Am I?
