Pick Up Thy Pen!

So I’m busy and gratefully so. First, I have my day-job, which is delightful but time consuming.

Then I have everything else.

-Expanding on my post about the Goblin Market for some content at Nevermet Press.

-Working on the Novel and finally limping through at least a passable draft of the third chapter

-Writing a short story centering around the Baba Yaga.

-Helping the girlfriend put some of her work online and start a proper portfolio in the web.

-Trying to get started on collecting  and expandinga few selects from Tara and I’s February Fiction Fight to the Death into some form of e-book or PDF incarnation.

-Starting up an online space-fantasy game with the family.

What I’m Thinking Now

Stylistic thoughts mostly, that’s whats on my mind. Thinking on faerie tales, of songs and sagas. Thinking on the stark line that makes stories accessible and inaccessible and other such nonsense. The classification and description of types of story.

Pandora and the music genome project have me thinking of a literary genome project, how interesting and useful it would be. The closest thing I can find that seems similar is the Aarne-Thompson  Classification System for certain types of tale. Which is really quite neat.
